Luba Palionny Client Services Manager Community Initiatives

Luba brings more than 20 years of experience in the social justice sector to her position in Community Initiatives’ Client Services department. Her work with nonprofits led her to interact with Community Initiatives previously, so she was already familiar with the organization’s work which is a natural fit. She appreciates the opportunity to be able to work with a nonprofit whose values align with her own.

Luba joined Community Initiatives during the pandemic, and with the staff primarily working remotely, she particularly enjoys the virtual check-ins held between the core staff. She finds these check-ins help them all to stay connected and grounded, which reminds them that they’re all in it together. As she has been guided by fantastic mentors through her career, she looks forward to being able to interact more fully with the staff, the many fiscally sponsored projects, and their leaders.

Born and raised in San Francisco, Luba still lives in the city where she now has a family of her own. Together they love to travel, make trips to the beach, go fishing and crabbing, work in the garden, and care for their pet bearded dragon.
