Project News | January 31, 2020

Introducing our weekly project partner news post! We scour your social media feeds, newsletters and emails to share your latest news with your cohort of fiscally sponsored projects.

It was so invigorating to hear from a few of our projects at our latest board meeting. Here are some quotes that made us feel great about the work we do.

From Monica Wilson, program director of CIWI:

“CIWI is a very lean program. To have CI as part of our team…it is beautiful. Such a reliable scope of work you provide. We couldn’t be here without you.”

“There was a time when we had the 501(c)(3) conversation. We’re so glad we didn’t do that. I don’t want to go anywhere else.“

From East Bay Getting to Zero:

“We were a ragtag group…pretty much all volunteers. Fiscal  Sponsorship has allowed us to get grant money, to do more and to do something bigger than we imagined. CI allows us to focus more on the content…we don’t know how to do HR and we don’t want to try.”

From Manzanita Works:

“We have really found a personalized service here. Because we didn’t have to do all of the work of our fiscal sponsors, we’ve been able to develop 2 new program areas. We couldn’t have done that without you.”

Each year, the FruitGuys have received more requests for funding than they can fulfill. At the end of last year, they hoped to raise $5,000 in added funding through their Give and Grow Good Campaign, enabling them to support two additional farms. Thanks to generous supporters, the campaign was a success. They raised $9,587 to help fund more small farms across the U.S. This outpouring of support allowed them to increase overall 2020 grant-making budget to approximately $60,000.
