Get to Know Community Initiatives’ Admin Staff!

Jose Plascencia

Jose joined the Client Services team in 2019, bringing with him several years of experience in fiscal sponsorship.

Growing up, he lived in both rural and urban areas in Mexico and Southern California before moving to the Bay Area. His experiences in these different social contexts helped root his interest in community work and serving diverse groups of people.

Outside of work, Jose collaborates with other artists in conceptual art installations. Some past Bay Area exhibits were installed in the California Institute of Integral Studies, Fruitville Plaza BART station, and Golden Gate Park.

This last year Jose started keeping bees, and through them he’s learning what it means to be responsible in caring for the seasonal process that involves his hive as well as native plants and the ecosystem.
