Message from Community Initiatives’ Board Chair

I am writing to inform the Community Initiatives community that as of Friday, October 21, 2016, Theresa Fay-Bustillos resigned as CEO. Theresa plans to return to her private consulting practice where she is recognized as one of the Bay Area’s leading authorities in nonprofit strategic planning.

During Theresa’s two and half year tenure, she moved the organization forward in many ways. Foremost was the design of Community Initiatives’ strategic plan and the establishment of a client service model. We are grateful to her for all that she has accomplished.

As we move into the next phase for Community Initiatives, our fiscally sponsored projects remain our top priority. Our Client and Financial Services Teams are committed to providing all of our projects with outstanding services, support and guidance.

The entire Community Initiatives Board is very involved in this transition, including working closely with the client and financial services staff. Our plan is to quickly identify an Interim CEO and then conduct a search for a permanent replacement, which will take several months. As Board Chair, I am currently acting CEO at Community Initiatives until an interim CEO is in place.

Thank you for your continued commitment to Community Initiatives. We value your support and look forward to helping all of our projects thrive as they fulfill their mission.
